BT field (Research for new medicine for cancer)

  • We are the pioneer in Streptomyces research ideally located at the SunMoon University, Korea. We are interested in engineering and developing small molecules of pharmaceutical importance.
    The lab is well equipped with biotechnological tools facilitating the development of academic and industrially applicable research projects.
    The goal of our lab is biosynthetic development of life-saving secondary metabolites. Specifically, we focus on designing, constructing, and modifying bacterial platform for natural and hybrid metabolites production, with promise to advance new paradigms for chemical biology.
  • Our research interest is focused on the chemistry and biochemistry of secondary metabolites, in particular Streptomyces and E. coli based therapeutic small molecules, flavonoids, vitamins etc.
    The structures, biosynthetic pathway and physiological roles of these substances are subjects of our studies. Knowledge of organic chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology will be useful in our study.
