Research & Development Branch

  • Through developing technologies and core science, this branch will commercialize the solution that will contribute to the cultivation of an innovative technological capability that will serve humanity
One of the greatest Islamic philosophers in the 8th century, Al-Kindi, once said, "We should not be ashamed of recognizing and obtaining the truth. It does not matter where it comes from, even if it’s from another nation or another race. Nothing is better than truth itself to those who seeks truth." As such, the spirit of Islam refuses to yield to any obstacle or stereotype that stands in the way of scientific development.

Ibn Sina, a great doctor of the 11th century, dedicated his life to researching the human body and to the finding of a cure its diseases. He introduced more than 700 types of medicines to the world. Following the spirit of Ibn Sina who pioneered the world of medicine, we will establish a hospital to cure diseases, train medical personnel, and research and develop new medicine that will contribute to humanity's health and welfare.

① Information Display (Prof. Kim Ho Seob)
    ② IT (IT institution)
③ BT (Prof. Song Je Kyeong)
④ Solar Cell development (Prof. Kim Hak Su)
⑤ Mobile Input Device (Prof. You Young Ki)

Sun Moon University's BT / IT / Display / Solar Panel Development departments are all in par with the world standard. Therefore, through training and collaborative research, Korea will aid Islamic nations in achieving great development in the field of advanced technology.
In order to achieve this goal, we will run the following committees.

  • 도트Korea-Islam Humanity Society Research Committee
  • This committee will publish papers, host seminars, and translate Islamic books into Korean. Religious leaders and scholars from not only Arab nations but also Southeast Asian countries where Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christianity co-exist will be invited to hold seminars. These seminars will include discussions regarding practical measures for cooperation and coexistence in this multicultural and multi-religious global era.

Under the UN's slogan of communication between civilizations, many international academic seminars have been held. However, not many of these seminars discuss inter-religious and inter-cultural cooperation and communication from the perspective of Islam. In the Korean society where the ideology of 'one race of people' is emphasized, there is a great need for such an international academic seminar which affirms the need and significance of dialogue between the co-existing religions and civilizations.
  • 도트Science Technology Research Committee
  • This committee's purpose is to promote scientific and technological research, and is specifically chosen to satisfy the needs of Islamic nations. To the more Sun Moon University is already endowed with the necessary equipments.
Research in the chosen field of investment will commence once the necessary financial contribution is secured. The research results will then be sent back to the investors, once they are completed.
